About Craft Travels

Founded in 2018 by cultural anthropologist Sarah Martinez, Craft Travels emerged from a passion for preserving traditional artisan skills and connecting travelers with authentic cultural experiences. Our mission is to bridge the gap between ancient craftsmanship and modern appreciation, creating meaningful exchanges between artisans and travelers.

We partner with master craftspeople across six continents, from Japanese pottery masters in Kyoto to Peruvian textile weavers in the Sacred Valley. Each experience is carefully curated to ensure authenticity, respect for local traditions, and genuine learning opportunities.

Our small-group approach (maximum 8 participants) ensures personalized attention and deeper cultural immersion. We believe that learning a craft is not just about techniqueβ€”it's about understanding the history, culture, and stories behind each creation.

Since our founding, we've facilitated over 2,500 artisan encounters, supported 150+ traditional craftspeople, and helped preserve endangered craft techniques for future generations. Join us in celebrating the beauty of human creativity and cultural heritage.
